I came to the Dominican Republic like the virgin came to her child. My friend and I just wanted to leave Germany in ugly november. Away. Far away! Into the sun. And it shouldn't be too expensive. There was no internet booking at that time but my travel agent made it possible. In five minutes! We paid a lot of money and had booked our club in Cabarete.
Did I enjoy it? What shall I say. When I came back I thought it would be my last vacation in a club like this. The audience was 96% german and I never thought a group of people could behave that stupid. Really. The club was all inclusive whicht meant that the first drunk men could be found near the pool around 11 o'clock. A.M. of course. And the fun programm... Well, lets better not remember that.
Anyway, the weather was absolutely gorgeous and we did manage to find a few sane people in our agegroup with whom we spant a decent time. Swimming, dancing, drinking (only after sunset of course.) So in the end I did enjoy myself. And Michael did too. But I wouldn't want to say that the DomRep, as it is called in germany sometimes, is a top priority for future trips.
1. Jungle
It was a long way for 100 degrees fahrenheit. But there is no wrong weather, just wrong
clothes
2. Fisherboy
In a little village where we stopped with our jeep. The boy took a break from his work
just long enough to watch us for a few seconds
3. Game
This little fellow couldn't be kept from his playing too
4. Water
'Die grosse Wasser - the big water' - as the natives called it in a fabulous german
accent. One of two pools in our club
5. Palmtree
At the main entrance
6. Hut
Our Room. Just 30 feet from the pool. Can you guess who was the first in the water
every day?
7. Sunbeach
The beach near Cabarete at sunset. Someone has told me, that Hawaii has some cool
sunsets. I'd settle for Dominican Republic any time. Anyway, I've never been to
Hawaii :-)
8. Dream
Just gorgeous. Miles of beach just for us. My favorite picture
9. Water (II)
Looking to the other side of the pool. Can you imagine that I'd rather be there now
(February, snow, 30 degrees F)?
10. Light
Nice plant
11. Effenberg
Well. There was a german soccer player who did this once on front of 40.000 people.
He donated his name for this picture. Sorry, if this offends anyone...
12. Colorplay
Red, green and yellow
