Norway was my destination 1992. Together with a friend (Rainer, can you still remember? -) in an old red Toyota Starlet we went on one day from Stuttgart to Copenhagen, spent the first night on a parking lot near the motorway, but were more than compensated for that in the following weeks - going from Copenhagen via Goeteborg to Oslo and then into the isolation of fjord county.
With many small and larger ferries (and with my sensitive stomach in tow) we finally reached the holiday house in our (nearly) private fjord in Norway, from which I don't remember the name - shame. And the place (Vestnes) in which we lived, is not to be found on any map - just five houses and about 20 people living there. Naturally it was the most beautiful fjord of all.
We had our own house (three bedrooms for two people), a boat and fishing equipment. Whereby the latter was used only by Rainer. Who wants to know something about the results... well, I shouldn't say anything... however, we didn't eat fish during our stay. We survived simply because we had noodles - lots of noodles.
There are many sights in the isolation of Norway. We climbed the highest mountain in Norway accessible by car, saw beautiful sunsets. But I liked the time best, in which I could finally read as much as I wanted.
We didn't reach the Northern Cape. Maybe I can catch up with this in the future. As James Bond always tells us: 'Never say never again.'
1. Morning light
Very early in the morning while waiting for one of the many ferries. Sometimes we
really prayed for bridges
2. Dawn
On the passage from Denmark to Sweden briefly after the sunset
3. Fantasy-Fjord
From the terrace in front of our house toward the fjord. (this picture presented
with support of my Minolta Fantasy Card)
4. Fog
This picture was taken very early in the morning too. The fog came, wrapped the fjord
for 10 minutes and disappeared again
5.Viewpoint
This picture is photographed from the boat I mentioned above. The boat was quite
heavy, but occasionally extremely wobbly. The inhabitant of the lookout point had
the safer place in any case
6. Harmony
Actually I wanted to call this image 'the old man and the sea', but Rainer would have
been not too pleased, I guess
7/8. Orange/Clouds
We 'enjoyed' this sunset together with approx. 20,000 mosquitoes. Or was the number
closer to 2 million? I don't know. The fact remains that we stayed just long enough
for me to take the pictures
9. Shadow Play
A classic double exposure - no photoshop. It took a while until I put Rainer in the
richt place. But I like it, amateurish as it looks
10. Movement
Impression from the theme park in Copenhagen, the Tivoli. I didn't want to take the
ride, but I watched it for a long time
11. Mirror Lake
One of the most beautiful places I saw in Norway. We watched the reflections in the
partly frozen water for over half an hour
