For the first time I went to Paris during a four-weeks-trip through Europe in 1987 with my friend (and now boss) Christian. It was the final highlight of that tour.
By chance I met a nice collegue a short time later and with her - in love with Paris - I went quite a few times to the capital of France. The most impressive stay was 1989 - 200 years after the french revolution. The city packed with visitors from all over the world, celebrating a party in an impressive way.
And finally, after eight years without Paris, I went to my garage, entered my car - together with the new Nikon D70 and 4 GB of memory - and just drove to the city of love for a 4 day fotoshooting. What shall I say: I should have done this years ago. Eiffel tower, Place de la Concorde, La Defense... amazing, gorgeous, beautiful. I know that in my Australia galleries I put Sydney in the top spot in my private 'what-is-the-most-beautiful-city-competition'. And that stays that way. But there can be a shared first place. Although the prices for food and lodging in Paris are really ridiculous...
I've kept some attractions from myself - to have a reason to return shortly, like a sunset on the Eiffel Tower or a visit to Disneyland (Euro Disney).
