I admit that I don't know all the birds, who wanted to get their picture taken, by name. Which doesn't mean that I don't like taking bird pictures. I love taking bird pictures. And we had quite a few in Alaska. Please enjoy a selection.
1. Yellow hair
This fine example of a woodpecker entertained us in the Chugach Mountains around
Eagle River
2./3. Friend
I don't know the name of the species. But he was a true friend, watching us cook,
enjoying the pictures in our travel guide and just staying with us for a while
4./5. Sea gull
You have to watch them flying to realize that sea gulls are not just annoying but
pretty impressive birds
6./7. Triumph
A dozen sea gull was fighting for the remains of the halibut. But there could be
only one...
8. Kormorant
Picture taken in Kenai Fjord National Park, a birds paradise
9. Triumph (2)
This picture was taken at Millers Crossing (Kenai). In this case the sea gulls
didn't stand a chance. Bad luck that it was almost 11 p.m. The lights wasn't
too bright anymore. I like the picture anyway
10. Moon and Bird
The moon was beautiful on that August morning. Good for me, that the
bald eagle thought so too...
11. Paradise
The Potter Marsh near Anchorage
12. Duo
A couple in Fairbanks
13. Ptarmigan
Ptarmigans are pretty common in Denali National Parkt
